NBA Draft 2020: Tyrese Maxey Selected 21st Overall by 76ers

Sixers Secure Crafty Guard

With the 21st pick in the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft, the Philadelphia 76ers selected Tyrese Maxey from the University of Kentucky. Maxey was originally projected to be a lottery pick, but surprisingly fell to the 76ers late in the first round.

Maxey's Versatility and Skill

Maxey is a speedy and versatile combination guard with exceptional scoring abilities. He possesses a great handle and can create his own shot off the dribble. Maxey's ability to penetrate and score in the paint, as well as his effective outside shooting, makes him a dangerous offensive threat.

In the 2019-2020 season at Kentucky, Maxey averaged 14.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. He shot 42.9% from the field and 33.1% from three-point range.

Trade News

In a related move, Leandro Bolmaro, who was drafted by the New York Knicks with the 23rd pick, was officially traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
